Request for Proposal: Financial Education Provider

SamCERA has issued a Request for Proposal for a financial education provider. The provider shall develop a course of instruction, which will be presented by qualified instructors, and supporting course materials to provide SamCERA members with financial education on various topics to assist them in their retirement planning. Examples of topic areas are: retirement planning and saving, money management, investing, estate planning, and working with financial professionals.

It is SamCERA’s intent to secure the services of a provider and to enter into a three-year contract. The provider will be prohibited from marketing any financial products to attendees during the term of the contract.

Proposals must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 24, 2022.

Board of Retirement Investment Information

At its meeting on February 22, 2022, the Board of Retirement approved a $25 million re-up commitment to Altas Partners Holdings III LP, as part of SamCERA’s Buyout portfolio within Private Equity.

No further board action was taken related to SamCERA’s investment commitments or hires.

More information on SamCERA’s commitments may be available in SamCERA’s Board of Retirement meeting minutes. Minutes for a given Board meeting are usually approved at the next regular meeting and will be posted shortly thereafter.

  • The new “Quick Estimate” tool makes it easy to crunch the basic numbers. Watch in real-time to see how a change in your retirement date or compensation can affect your bottom line down the road.
  • The new “Detailed Estimate” tool will give you insight into nearly any retirement scenario. Seamlessly factor in changes to your work schedule, service credit, projected salary, and more with just a couple of quick taps in the app. 
  • All detailed estimates are automatically saved. Review previous estimates at any time and even share them with your SamCERA benefits specialist ahead of any planning meetings to ensure that your retirement plan is dialed in.

Paperless pension management

  • Our new DocuSign integration allows you to make essential changes to beneficiaries securely, without ever having to print or mail a form.
  • The new “Secure Document Upload” tool allows you to use your device’s built-in camera to share important documents with our benefits team instantly.
